HOW TO LEARN MATHEMATICS

• Accept that mathematics is an essential subject that must be learnt and understood. Resolving within yourself that mathematics is very important and compulsory for you is a certain way to understand the subject.

•  Love your mathematics teacher in school or find another mathematics mentor. This is so important to understanding the subject very well. It is just very true that if you love your mathematics teacher, your love for the subject would be phenomena and your performance would sour.

 

•   Understand the foundational topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, fraction and indices most failures or poor performance in mathematics come from poor understanding of these topics.

• Use good materials: learning with the right textbooks and video materials aids understanding. It brings clarity to the topics and enhances knowing.

• Solve lots of examples from different textbooks. Practice makes perfection in mathematics.
